Encompassing the oldest national park in India, the Jim Corbett National Park, and several other beautiful valleys, the region of Corbett in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, is reminiscent of the vivid world conjured by Rudyard Kipling in his book, ‘The Jungle Book.' Hilly ridges interspersed with flat valleys and green grasslands complementing marshy wetlands, Corbett has a wide variety of flora and fauna. A soul with wanderlust is drawn to this region, with its spectacular panoramas and adventurous vibe.
Surrounded by the steep forested hills of Kumaon on the outer Himalayas, Nainital is a city that grew up around its namesake, Lake Naini. A favorite destination for honeymooners, this hill station, with its mythological past, is a part of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. With a landscape dotted with a plethora of lakes like Tallital, Mallital, Sattal, and Bhimtal, it is no wonder that the region is known as the Lake District of India. A spider’s web of scenic trekking trails covers the hillsides surrounding Nainital. The breathtaking panorama of the tangled rides and distant peaks of the mighty Himalayas will hold you spellbound. Spend some time promenading along Mall Road and explore the exotic cuisines of Nainital and grab some unique souvenirs.
Late evening transfer to the railway station to board a train to Nainital, a popular hill town in Uttarakhand, with the Kumaon ranges in the backdrop. On arrival, transfer to the hotel for overnight.
On day 2, have your breakfast drive towards Pangot, a small but a beautiful village. The rest of the day is at leisure. Indulge in nature walk at Kilbury and Pangot while admiring the surrounding beauty of the ranges decorated with a variety of flowers. You can also enjoy bird watching here where you can spot as many as 150 avifauna species. Return to Nainital for overnight stay.
After breakfast, leave for sightseeing of Nainital. First of all visit the Naini lake, where you can indulge in a number of activities. Enjoy a boat ride on the lake, you can also go for bird watching around the lake or opt for horse riding alongside the lake. Enjoy a cable car ride up to the snow point. The ascending cable car ride offers you a chance to have a bird’s eye view of the region. Also visit the China Peak or Naina Peak to enjoy a mesmerizing view of the Himalayan ranges. Stay overnight in Nainital.
Have your breakfast and leave by road for Binsar. Here you will visit the Binsar wildlife sanctuary, situated on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. On arriving, check into the jungle lodge. This wildlife sanctuary offers excellent opportunities to avid bird watching enthusiasts and is a heaven for photographers. The sanctuary has an extensive range of flora and fauna. Overnight stay in the lodge.
In the morning after breakfast, leave by road for to Munsiyari. The serene town boasts of offering a mesmerizing view of the Milam and Ralam valleys as well as the Panchchuli peaks. This town is also popular amongst trekking enthusiasts. Once you reach Munsiyari, check into your resort. After relaxing for some time, you can venue out of your room to treat your eyes with the surrounding natural beauty. Take a walk up to the local bazaar. Stay overnight.
Day 6 is going to be full of trekking. Post breakfast, begin your trek towards the Khaliya Top which is at a height of 11,500 feet. From this place, you are going to have an amazing view of the Panch-Chuli peaks. If you love angling, then you can indulge in fishing in the Ramganga and Gori Ganga rivers, flowing alongside. Stay overnight in alpine tents.
Have your breakfast and leave for Kausani. The route is narrow and will be dotted with villages. On arrival, check into the hotel. Kausani is a quaint hill town, which is considered to be one of the most picturesque locations all over India. Have your lunch here. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities. Treat your eyes to the surrounding lush beauty. Enjoy a leisure walk. Stay overnight
Have your breakfast and spend the day at leisure. Relax and rejuvenate your senses amidst the nature’s beauty. You can also indulge in bird watching here or exploring the nearby attractions such as Anashakti Ashram. Stay overnight.
After relishing your breakfast, hit the road to go to Jim Corbett National Park, the oldest national park in India. On arrival, check-in at your jungle lodge. Have your lunch and embark on a jeep safari into the national park or enjoy a nature walk. The park is popular for housing the largest population of the big cats. Stay overnight in the lodge.
Day 10th is booked for two wildlife safaris into the park. First one will be an early morning jeep safari inside the park. In the afternoon, you are going to enjoy an elephant ride into the park for wildlife viewing. During your safari, you can spot a vast variety of fauna such as the crested serpent eagle, blossom-headed parakeet, ghoral (goat-antelopes), Indian pangolins, langur and rhesus monkeys, bull elephants, deer, leopard cat etc. Stay overnight.
Post breakfast, leave for Delhi. Evening arrival, direct transfer to the railway station or the airport for your onward destination journey.
